Hi Isak,
I like the way you got pretty good seperation on most of the trees. You have a few things working against you here in this image though......a minor one is the clipped tree on the right edge..........if pointing a bit more right would have introduced another tree merger....then eliminating that one all together would have been preferable. Getting lower would have also placed the tree tops further into the sky.....giving even more seperation with the horizon.....but the biggest issue is that the time of day......looks a bit too close to mid day....so the contrast is very strong......this minimizes the beautiful sky and lessens it's impact quite a bit. Maybe trying Robert's reverse S curve will help lessen some of the contrast impact.

Isak,

The technique Roman refers to is at http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20434.

You can see http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=24075 for links to my two (so far) image contrast and tone tweak tutorials.

Roman nailed the critique for me and taming the contrast some will enhance the image. Also try a shadows/highlights adjustment to open up the shadows - also discussed in first link above.

Isak, I like the shapes of the clouds, and the placement of the closer tree on the far left side. I hope we can see a rework based on the comments above, to bring out more details in the trees and ground.
