Ah, the wonders to be found in a drainage ditch. After two days of melting (high 60F/15C), with 6-8 inches of snow going away, we had a good freeze, resulting in these multiple layers of ice.

Bruce, I love these type of images, I like the interesting UL corner as well as all the diagonal lines.

Interesting capture, Bruce. I like the pattern, the texture and the color. Only thing I would say is that my eye keeps following the ripples from UR to LL and out of the frame. Nothing seems to stop me along the way. I guess I would wish for the ripples to lead my eye to something to stop on rather than leading me out of the frame.

I agree with Ed's comment.
A very nice abstract image.

Hey Bruce, cool pattern and love the rich blue color. Good details.

Nice one, Bruce! I love the sense of motion that lies right beneath the surface...you can almost sense the movement in the LRC area because of the lines. Nice comp - I see Ed's point but I think you also stopped it where you could...not much more you could have done to change the ice.

Thanks, all. I see what Ed is saying, with the last full arc being pale allowing the eye to keep going. A stonger stopping curve would have helped, but cropping or moving position I think would take away from the UL to LR diagonal of the fracture below the surface. I'll look around for a better stopping point next time!
