Hi Denise,

Beautiful rose captured beautifully. I love the way the light works with the petals. It works well for me. The colors are very soft (in a positive way) creating a wonderful mood. Detail is very good.

Two small wishes I have. I would have liked to see a more contrasting background. And I would have liked to see just a bit of stem.

I see you have a passion for my favorite macro lens as well. :D

Good golly, but this is beautiful. I love the tone, the textures and the lighting. I'm not terrifically fond of the composition, though. It feels cramped at this point. I'd either suggest backing out a bit more and getting some air around the image (with a little more stem) or getting in REALLY close and only capturing a portion of what you did here. That's my opinion...it's your image...do what you feel is best, Denise!

Hey Denise, very nice, like the comp and BG. Good subject as I like the little curls at the end of each petal.

Mike, I saw a flower in your book with a similar crop, thought I would try it on a rose-BTW I enjoyed reading your book and will refer back to it as needed, it inspired me to get out there and look around!

Very nice image.
The composition is a bit tight, indeed more stem would have been better.

You can try a dark background and back lighting.

Do you think this is a better comp?
