On a very cold day, I mean cold and snowy, at Yellowstone Canyon, where Judy and I ventured by ourselves. Judy being from Canada and used to driving in snow conditions, I felt very safe :)

Hi Fabs,
I often find that the simplest comps are the most effective and this is no exception. Even though I am on the laptop I may want a bit more definition in the tree twigs.....but I can't be sure there. I would recommend a slim black border around the image......because of our BPN BG....the top of the image bleeeds into the screen BG minimizing some of the impact.

Fabs,
I love this. Simple but very effective composition. You can easily place some text in the image.
Cheers

So simple and effective...love the starkness and cold that is conveyed here. I'm not exactly sure why, but the continuous foreground vegetation across the bottom of the image seems a bit "much". I may be crazy, but I yearn for an even simpler scene where the tree is surrounded by less vegetation and more white. Probably hard to find, but it popped into my mind. ;)

I understand Judd's comment and agree, having even less here would be more.

I remember this spot and the simplicity of this image is just beautiful. Well seen and composed.

The brush dominates the image, rather than anchors it. Cloning out some on either end would change the feel. I love the idea of simplicity in the scene.
