Hi Eric. Nice look at the tuft; kind of resembles a conehead! I'd like to see better eye contact with the bird and perhaps a profile view. Also I would think about a vertical crop that includes the entire bird. Thanks for posting!

I agree with Doug's comments. The crop is awkward, perhaps vertical would have improved composition

Hi Eric. What Doug means is a vertical that extends lower than what you have here in order to include the complete tail, if you have it. If not then I would consider trying to lure him back (is this near a feeder setup?) and prepare in advance to include more room all around to avoid clipping parts of him.

edit: just saw that there is no crop on the original...

yes daniel there is no crop so that first one was the original image. This is a feeder set-up and i had the tripod up before they came, however, i had it set up for a different branch...so i didnt expect him to come this close to me. Next time ill try to include the feet.
