Shorty Closeup

Happy New Year Everyone!
Just got back from another jaunt out on the river estuary. Here is one of many shots taken of my old friend "Shorty" the short-eared owl with the wind blowing back some of his feathers. Like the Great Horned owls this summer, Shorty lets me get quite close and is very cooperative about having his picture taken.
Hope you all enjoy the new year and I am looking forward to posting more on BPN.

Lucky you to have such a cooperative subject, the whole shot seems a bit soft to me, and I would have cropped it to leave a bit more on the right and maybe a bit less on the left.

Hi Art,
Thanks for your comment. I don't understand why it resulted in a somewhat softer image here. The original is very sharp on my monitor so it could be the method I am using to smooth background noise before posting. I will have to experiment and see if I can get better results in the future.
