After reading the reports, seeing the members of my photography club produce some excellent images of the Snowy Owl that has graced our shores of Long Island I was able to make it out last week in order to find and search on my own...

I made it out twice, in the morning I had not found the owl until the sun was very high, producing images that were very contrasty and also keeping the eyes of the owl closed or just open just slits...

Returning in the afternoon allowed Christmas to come early for me last week...

As I said before the light in this is great. I would prefer a little more room in the frame but that is just my taste.

Beautiful bird in lovely light. Side lighting showing off the texture of the wing nicely. Agree more room would have been nice. Was there an option to move to the left and get some more frontal lighting?

So very pretty. Personally, I'd clean up the bright lower right hand corner and clone out the stick in the same area. I don't want anything distracting me from her beautiful eye and feathers.

Beautiful light but it is a little tight in the frame. You could have made a nce vertical of this.
