This was taken in Monument Valley a few years ago. It's on private Indian land so you must have a guide to shoot there. This was taken as the first bit of light came over the horizon. With the early light it does get that red.
Nikon D200,18-70mm lense, F22, iso 200
tripod mounted, 0 comp, polarizer

Dave, let me just say that the colors and lighting are beautiful! I did find the crop to be a bit "centered" and I didn't really care for that bramble on the LRC so I took a bit off the right and bottom just as a suggestion for a different crop. I also added just a touch (-1.5) of clockwise rotation as well.

The detail and beauty of this image speaks for itself.

Thanks Julie..There is a bit I could of taken off the bottom. Moving the pole a more to the right helps it also...

Hey Dave,
I like Jules crop...she must have been reading my mind...although I may not go as far.......just not to clip the upper bush and clone out the rest on the bottom. Your lighting choice was perfect.......with the dunes now being accentuated even more with the crop.

Again I agree with my comrades above. Crop is the way to go.
