Mike, Mike, Mike...you are giving me big glass envy! If this is what the Canon 100-400 does I may have to work a second job.

This is an incredibe portrait. I can't tell if the snow on his nose has blown highlights or not but I'm not sure I care. I just keep looking at that eye and then down to the broken horn and back to that eye again.

I think I see some kind of jpeg artifacts in the BG and it might be a bit oversharpened - it's hard to tell with my monitor. I do love the composition, though. I'd select the BG and see if you can't blur it a bit...maybe that would get rid of the weird pattern I'm seeing.

Gosh, that must have been thrilling to realize you got this image!

I'm on a laptop, so can;t judge the hot spots, but the pose and detail sure come throguh as very good. You were on the ground and there was atree behind you. It' s all in the eye :)

Mike,
This is a good one. Love the details. I love that eye. The raised head gives it lot of attitude. The broken horn gives it lot of character. I would have given bit more space. The 100-400 is a nice lens. I would have loved a f4 version. But it's gives you a lot of flexibility in composition.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Mike, this portrait is very special. It's extremely tight and feels just right com compositionally. The exposure and sharpness are perfect. Fine work!!
