Lucky to get an interesting sky. Hunted around again for a foreground and found the knarled wood.
I think these rocks are called the Pinnacles but I'm sure Roman will correct me if I'm wrong since he knows the place so well.

Hey Dave,
It's nice that you found some FG interest for the image........the bush and the stump add a nice base and the clouds were wonderful. You have nice shadow play going on here and the height.....from smaller to more dominant in the center to back down also works. Nicely composed! BTW....the area is called the fins.

Well done. I do like it as presented. The FG dried wood is a nice touch. Ideally the wood could have been closer to the subject, but I am glad you didn't move it.

Thanks Roman for the correction on the name. Don't remember where I got the name pinnacles from. The same day I also shot a pano of this which I'll post soon.

Dave, I used the shadow/highlight adjustment to open up the "fins" a bit more. I used a levels adjustment to bring the midtones down in the FG and masked it off from the rocks. I think it gives the rocks just a bit more detail to look at and a bit more pop to the FG.

I like it!! My image was more saturated than shown but not to this level.

Like the comp Dave for the reasons mentioned and Julie did a great job opening up the shadows which is what I would have suggested.

Nice comp Dave, I like Julie's increased saturation example, really pops.
