Hi Mike,
I like the fact that you have a good clean background, also like the peek-a-boo pose of your bird. However, the bird is soft and out of focus, especially the eye...he also needs more room to the left of the frame in the direction that he is looking into...Are you manually focusing, or are you on auto focus? I can not figure out why the image is soft; how close was the bird from you?...

Mike

Are you using a tripod?

Hi Mike, Boy you are sure doing something right to get all those good looking birds. Once you get the focus a bit tighter you will have some real dandy photos.

Hi Mike this one is really soft Not sure what happened Normally you work real low shutter speeds much sharper? There is also a strong magenta cast !!!

i'll tell you, this bird was showing feathers like a charm. i'm trying to get as sharp of an image asi i can get. i fight noise all of the time. i have other takes of this bird on a 4x6 inch picture. i got a lot of this pose and i am going to try for a different pic of the same scene. i'm using a tripod and AF. i'll get back to you on this.
