I saw this patch of beach grass in the snow right near the parking lot at Jones Beach, West End in early morning as I set out to look for Snowy Owls (in the snow). Three hours later, mission accomplished, I grabbed the fish eye to create this image. I had to clone out just a bit of snow fencing in each upper corner.

Canon 15mm fish eye with the Canon EOS-1D MIII. ISO 400. Evaluative metering +2 1/3 stops: 1/200 sec. at f/9 in manual mode.

Don't be shy; all comments welcome.

Good title, Artie. Not a whole lot I can say. I like it! Comp is excellent. The sweeping movement toward the UL is just perfect. Good eye.

Jones Beach sounds like the place to go to when in New York. Simple is right, but elegant. Clean whites and a touch of wispy grass. This says clean to me, quiet and serene.

Artie, I'm on my lap-top so I'm not sure but it looks like you have a a couple of lines in BG to clean-up before print. Like the composition -it is simple , for my own taste I would have liked the shadows at base be stonger or completely gone- that's just my opinion

Gorgeous! Very zen of you, Artie! I think you should rename it "The Golden Arches." :D;):D

Hi Julie, That put a smile on my face, but you have got to admit, these arches are a bit more elegant. I was inspired by all that fresh snow.

Very creative Art.

I like the colour of the grass against the snow and excellent flowing composition.

Yes, Artie, but wouldn't it be nice if we all thought of this image instead of that one when someone said that phrase? I may never think of McD's the same way again... :D:D:D

I love these gentle grasses bending over. The composition is gorgeous.
I, do, find myself wanting the grasses to stand out a bit more, or be a more substantial part of the image.
