Not a common species in SE Australia, more common in the northern areas. This Brolga nested on a flooded creek abour 3 hrs drive from my home.

Hi John,
Lovely pose and habitat feeling to this image. I don't know why but all corners are dark.

Great find and pose. I wish for a bit more head turn and more space at the top. I might also try S/H to get more details in the shadows.

What a great opportunity and I like the pose. Was your hide setup on the water?

Hi Nicole, yes I have a water hide - a platform supported on 4 legs (2 metres high). The platform is adjustable so I can use it at ground level or any height up to 2 metres depending on the depth of water. Of course it can also double up as a dry land hide.
