Lovely image David. Composition, pose, detail, and the great perch with snow. Also the piercing eye contact. I like it alot.

Second what's been said, love the perch and the Owl's stare. Only little thing I can see is a bright spot on the tips of the wings, overall though it's looks great.

Hi David, I think that everything has been said about this image in a cuople of comments. I do like the snow on the perch and the subtle green color in the wood near the owl. The eye facing towards the observer is fantastic and I wouldn´t change a single thing in the composition. Keep them coming ;-)

What incredible eye contact David! I love the perch with a hint of snow. The image has a wonderful wintery feel to it.

My fav perch of the various NHO shots posted lately. Not really fond of just plain sticks so this one is great.

This has to be one of the best NHO I have seen - the soft light has given great plumage detail, the perch is interesting and colourful without blocking off any of the bird and the snow completes the story. On top of all that, those eyes drill right through you.
