I often enjoy the challenge of capturing small birds in flight, this image of a Greenfinch was taken at my feeding station. Greenfinch are very aggressive when it comes to food and will attack each other to get a turn on the feeders. I focus on the feeders and then wait for the birds to hover around them, hit rate is very low but very rewarding when you nail one.
No remote or infrared triggers used, just good old eye and shutter button coordination :)

Techs: 1/3200 @ F4.5 EC-2/3 ISO 200

Focus - servo- ring of fire

Thanks for looking.

Nice hand-eye coordination and pre-planning of your image. Love the wing position, dangling feet, and open beak. I would place the bird further right in the frame; it's too centered as presented.

Very well timed, and agree with Doug on the placement. Nice and sharp, and stands out against a superb OOF BG. Well captured Tony.

Great light, pose, open beak and hanging feet, the BG complements the plumage well. I agree with Doug's crop suggestion.

Many thanks for the comments everyone, agree Doug, looks a tad too central I'll have to add some canvas...

Cheers.
