Banded New Zealand Falcon

On a Recent trip to check on nesting pairs of New Zealand Falcons i managed to get several images of Previous banded raptors within the forest. This one was busy Keking and dive bombing while the nest was being checked, which contained three 25 day old chicks, which we ended up banding.

Congratulations Jason, I like all the outstretched feathers and the framing just a little off-center.

Thanks everyone for your comments, this is an added bonus as three of my recent images from my last trip to research falcons have been published in New Zealand Geographic. :)

Fabulous image. You couldn't ask for a clearer, crisper photograph. Nicely exposed as well!

Nice gesture (wings out, beak open) and absolutely perfect focus, exposure, DOF etc. I wonder if the image would be a little more dynamic if it wasn't quite so centered. In my opinion, shifting the bird out of center and somewhat to the left would have given it a bit of space in front suggesting that it was actively flying forward. Centering our flying images gives a sort of pedestrian "field guide" look which can be a bit static - you are totally free to disagree.
