This Mute Swan was found in a small lake in Peapack NJ.

Camera: Canon EOS rebel XSi/450D
Lens: Canon EF 75-300mm 1:4-5:6 III
Flash: on
Tripod: none
Crop: none

Any suggestions on other information i should give?

Hey Eric. Welcome to BPN! I had to make a few little edits to get the image to actually show up. It looks like a little bit of the code from the Flickr page was not copied over. Here is your image:

You've posted a very nice portrait with excellent focus and exposure.. When you compose a photograph like this I might suggest giving the swan head a little more room. Especially along the top and left side there is just very little extra space, so things feel a bit tight.

Welcome to BPN, Eric! Very nice first post. I like the soft light and eye contact and agree that a wider crop would improve it. Keep them coming and please post the techs!

Nice image, just a little too tight in the frame for me and I would suggest a little more sharpening,

Welcome to BPN Eric. If this is not full-frame I would add some room back, a little tight in the frame as is. A contrast boost of 8-10 points in photoshop should yield you great results here. Good job with the exposure...

Welcome, and yes to more room, brighter, and do post the tech specs (equipment, EXP, etc.)
