I like the details and wing position and would add more room at the top and crop a bit off the bottom. The light seems a bit harsh and there is a S/H halo at the tip of the far wing.

Wow, thank you for the detailed feedback. This is full frame and I can't do much about more space. I never did any dodging with that wing, nor applied S/H move, so I have no idea what happened. Even RAW file looks "suspicious". Here is part of unprocessed image:

Thanks for the extra information. The wing tip looks fine in the unprocessed image. If you didn't use curves or S/H then I'm not sure either where the 'halo' comes from. Too bad you don't have more space at the top but I would crop some off the bottom anyway.

Did you use any clarity adjustment in the raw conversion? This will give similar soft halos as the S/H tool.

I like the wing position as well and I agree the light is less than ideal. Of course with nice soft light you wouldn't get the nice shadow.

Excellent stuff above. Thanks Leroy! And Axel. The harsh light (note the over-exposed whites on the rump...), the shadowed face, and all those pebbles so not work for me. Strong points include the excellent SH and the nice wing position.
