Ft.Desoto, June. This guy was very accomodating...as turnstones often are. Up here the only time we see them close enough for photography is during the fall migration when they have lost their breeding plumage, or as juveniles. Even then it's only 1 or 2 individuals for the year. I was thrilled to be able to add adult breeding plumaged individuals to my files :-)

Canon 40D + 100-400L @ 400mm, manual exp., eval metering, 1/1600s., f/7.1, ISO400, natural light, handheld, 75% full-frame.

Very nice action in this image and excellent exposure. Love the low angle and beautiful lighting. Good eye contact too. Thanks for sharing Daniel.

Love the fluffing pose Daniel !!! I like the inclusion of the seaweed !! btw love the white detail Big Congrats !!!

Hi Daniel I like the action here a lot. Great low angle and comp. In this image I think that a lower shutter speed would produce a great motion sensation... yes it is easy to say that now but very difficult to predict that in the field when you are shooting. Very good job

Stunning light, and amazing colours captured here Daniel. Comp works well, and lovely low angle. An outstanding image.

Love the COMP, the sharpness, the seaweed, the angled pose, and the ruffle. The light-colored rock in the llc balances the white at the end of the seaweed. You could not have done better.
