As dusk fades to night, the Milky Way begins to unfold over the Flint Hills of Kansas. Jupiter can be seen as the brightest object on the right side of the image...and just left of that is the Dark Horse Nebula.

Awesome use of light or lack thereof. Digital really shines in these instances w/o reciprocity failure. I like the placement of the hills; the two FG slopes going left to right and the BG slope entering right to left creates a nice layering affect that draws you into the image. Also, the amount of the ground is just right as the night sky is the "star" of the image. Sorry for the pun.

Beautiful image, makes me wish I was sitting on that hill watching the stars come out.

Wow, Judd, that is simply awesome! I wish we didn't have to travel so far to escape light pollution around here. I also know hold difficult it can be to compose an image with so little light and you really nailed this one. I'll bet you could do some incredible star trails out there!

Excellent! I love the colors and composition. The layers of the hills give good depth and lead you into the image
