Note: This was taken a couple of weekends ago in a place called Long Key, located in Davie Florida.

This fellow was flying just under the radar, coming in for a landing, to his resting place for the evening.
He was painted with a Nikon D70s, using a Nikkor 300mm f/4 D; and a Nikkor 1.4 T/C

The lighting totally makes this image, Gus. The gradation of white to blue at a diagonal is fantastic. For me, personally, I'd given him just a smidge more room on the right corner for that wing but everything else is fabulous.

Gus - where does all the dof come from in this image? From bill though the body looks very sharp and the feet and tail are acceptable. The Wh. Ibis has about 2 ft body, so from bill tip to toes is 3 or 4 ft???? You must have fired the shutter at precisely the right instant.

Very nice Gus. I like the dynamic of the flight path versus the wings and the subtle mix of the warm evening sun tones on the bird and the remaining cool light in the upper left. I'm also a fan of the back lighting through the wings. Nice image!

I agree with Gail Gus. The DOF is impressive @ F/5.6. Thank you for including the detailed camera settings. BPN is better than a photography course.
