Despite living in the state with the 2nd largest Bald Eagle population (news to me), I have never had a good opportunity to photograph these amazing birds.

Hi Dan Good head angle bg and sharpness Light seems a bit harsh and from the right Would select the bird and work on the shadows Then go for the head and give it more density With soft light this would be a fine image !!!! Congrats !!!

Thank you for the feedback, Alfred. Would you mind clarifying some of it for me? By working on the shadows - I assume you mean in the body of the bird, using curves or possibly shadow / highlight techniques? And what do you mean by "give it more density" on the head.

I have some shots of the same bird in good poses with softer light (sun behind the cloud) but I'll try improving this one first.

I understand the 1 post per 24 hours limit but it can make it hard to talk about some of these things. I'd post some alternate shots for feedback if I could.

I'm a sucker for the light color in this image but it's definitely a bit harsh in this image. Probably due in part to me getting carried away in Photoshop.

Alfred - try this image of the same bird. I think it addresses your comments.
