sigma 50-500 mm
f 6.3

this is the first time i've seen this bird in my backyard. i've seen them about, but never before in my backyard.
the only thing i know is wrong is the picture is too low in the frame. the bg was easy.(maybe that's not good):o

Not really Mike Placement seems fine and you have the little extra up front !!!

Bg looks good just wish it was a little sharper I'm sure it has to do with the low shutter speed, might consider going even higher with the ISO I know it will increase noise and reduce image quality but in the words of Chas Glatzer ...... Noise beats un-sharpness every time !!!! :)

Hi Mike,
My problem with this image, is the the bird is not sharp, especially the eye; which is the most important factor. I personally don't mind the noise; but the sharpness is critical...the placement of the bird in frame is fine, and so is the head angle. you need to start concentrating on the eyes...SHARP<SHARP...and SHARP...
