I like the portrait and composition of this one. I think that there is too much contrast and sharpening. Also, did you clone something out along the right side....some of the side "feathers" are blurred and there appears to be a dark line/halo, especially on the top.

Im sure the original is right on PS has gotten the best out of the image Agree with Lana Beutiufl portrait and bg !!!!

The sharpening worked well for print but you're right, I should have done it differently for the web. Also I confess to carelessness in not detecting the black rim. The next one will be better!

Hi Murray,
I like the colorful subject and all the feather detail you've captured. This combines to make a nice portrait. I agree with Lana's nits.
