A rainy Novemnber day on the Skagit Flats in Northwestern Washington.

The rays of light penetrating the cloud cover really makes this image work for me.
Croppping just a little off the top and bottom would make an interesting panorama.

For me I would crop a bit from the top and bring more detail into the land are (lighten slightly)
The suns rays are what make this image.

Terry,

I would go with the very extreme crop below. I wanted to preserve the little patch of grass in the water in the lower right (perhaps go lower then my crop on bottom) so some of the top of grass is visible along the bottom edge. That can be cloned out.

Not how I used the ROT to make the layers of the image match the horizontals.

I think that Pete´s proposal would work for me, lighten the FG think would help (ideal applying DND with two pics, one exposed for FG & the other for BG or using a DN filter at the moment of the shot)..
