A male Ringed Kingfisher (Ceryle torquata) perched above the Frio River at Garner State Park near Concan, Texas. As always, comments and criticisms very welcome.

HI Paul that is one of my nemesis birds !!!!
I like the pose, perch and bg !! Sure wish you had softer light and not so much from the right side, got some shadows on the breast area. Looks like a little bit of a crop but detail held fairly well Very pleasing image !!!

These are similar to our giant kingfishers. I agree about the harsh light, but the feather detail is there Paul.
