Same bird, different pose. A lower angle wasn't possible.

Like the pose, but the light angle is less than ideal. I'd try to even things out by dodging the bird and toning down its right wing. Also, it feels a little tight in the frame.

I like the pose here, Aidan and don't mind the tight crop. I get the feeling that the swan may have been darker in the original exposure and has been lightened significantly with Shadow/Highlight, levels or curves. Did you use some fill flash? - highlight in the eye suggests you did. All in all a pleasing image.

I like the pose and the head angle is good. It doesn't look to me as if you used fill flash. I just think that the bird swam into a shaded area. A nice image.

I lke ethe way the bird shows in the BG. You have some hot pixels in one wing, where the sun was hitting the plumage. Good eye contact!

Comp wise, maybe a bit tight, but if it was possible, I would add to the RHS, and the BG looks easy enough to do. This is nice and sharp, and apart from the left wing, I think this is well exposed. Great capture Aidan.

In the original the whites aren't blown, but they do look a little hot in the JPEG. :o

P.S I did use fill flash
