Enjoying the nice weather at the cliffs, no clue of the ID, during Artie's IPT in January. Wonderful place, wish I could go back soon.

Fabs- Superb Heermann's Gull! You have captured the essence of the bird- dusky plumage and the amazing bill. I would be "afraid" to post with so much green foreground. It could be reduce a touch with a slightly different crop.

Hi Fab,

Love the details and colors. I have mix feelings about the green but looks like a painting... if you will.

I have to agree with Maxis the green in the foregorund really is very distracting, otherwise killer detail.

I also really like the green, and how it fades into the frame.

The exposure on the Gull is excellent Fabs, and nice and sharp too. I like the overall colours in this. Well captured.

Seem like a diversion of opinions on the green. I like it - it caught my eye as a thumbnail. Wondering about a different crop as the tail is gone anyway. Not sure what you think of this square version. I think it emphasises the colours and I like the way the line of the wing parallels the green.

I love this gull species Fabs. I guess I'd prefer less of the green and more bird.

I honestly thought the original file was great...i think both work but i prefer the original crop. I love how the photo is divided into three distinct sections each with it's own color...the FG and BG are completely out of focus while there is tack sharp detail in the bird...i really enjoy it...very unique...Nate
