John,
I love morning glories, and this is a nice one. Beautiful composition, well positioned and well balanced. I like your choice of BG color. DOF is about the best possible at this magnification, and I agree with your choice to keep the far edge of the flower sharp and let the near edge go soft. Excellent details in the petals, and you've captured the glowing white center very well.

Hi John, perfection all the way! I love how the blue flower and BG compliment each other. The glowing center of the flower really makes this image stand out. Composition is great too, I always find it hard to make a picture of a single flower interesting, but you surely succeed here. Great work!

I totally agree with everyone else! It's beautifully composed, gorgeous colors, just the right amount of saturation and you did a great job of exposing it so the white center glows.

Delightful!

The flower looks beautiful. U've exposed it so neatly with good details. However, the BG colour somehow looks a bit bright & the blue competes for attention; it is purely (& merely) a personal taste & I feel that the BG colour does not go well with this flower.

Thanks all,

as far as the bg it is the fall sky on a nice clear day not much else to choose from
