The weather is gorgeous at the Bosque and the bird counts are rising every day! This morning the cranes took off a little on the early side, so the light wasn't great. The geese were the stars of the day. I ran into a number of BPN members including Walt Anderson, Chris Dodds, Gary Rouleau, and Michael Lloyd. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the day! Here's a Snow Goose that I photographed this morning.

Absolutely amazing. Your photography is simply outstanding Doug. This is so well exposed, pin sharp, against a perfect OOF BG. Great image Doug.

Thanks Artie! It was taken at the north end of the Farm Loop yesterday morning. BTW, this morning was really good!

Beautiful feather detail and lighting Doug. I see you have switched from your 50D to the Mark III for the last little while. Is there a reason for that?

This was shot using Jim Neiger's Mark III. I was letting him play around with the 50D. I like my Mark III and I like my 50D; each has its strengths and each has its weaknesses. I'll be posting some 50D photos taken with the 500 and 600 lenses because there seems to be some interest in how the 50D performs with big glass; it does not disappoint!
