Puffballs photographed in rainforest with exposure to give black BG. Moon introduced in PS.
Fungi - Canon EOS 5D, Canon 100mm macro, 1/200 at F22, ISO 100. Tripod.
Flash x2, one main behind puffballs to simulate moon light, and fill flash next to lens -1 stop compensation.

Now I really like this. The composition is spot on the moon in the background really does set this image. Cleverly done and thought out.

I really like the concept. My suggestion would be to put the moon closer to a power point and not so close to the top edge. The puff balls are fantastic. I remember many fine meals from puffballs. The giant ones in the San Bernardino Forest in Southern California can go to over 40 pounds and take weeks to finish off.

Hi again John,

I like this and agree with Steve recommendation on the ROT power point placement of the moon. You have a winner here.

Excellent idea and well done. Its not east to find unmarked and whole fungus like this. My only suggestion would be to lighten up the moon a bit to make it a better partner to the puffballs.

John just a thought ...... this could also work well with a large moon (I mean large) love the idea and looks excellent as presented !!!!

Fabulous! It looks like something from another planet. I agree with Alfred above - amp that moon up and see what you think.
