We were photographing the Elk herd at Mamoth and these etchings grabbed my attention

Hey John,
you got pretty good DOF for f2.8! Nice use of color as a leading line. I also like the contrast of colors. I will ask........did you try bringing up the whites a bit???........not sure if it will improve any........but it may improve the texture in the reddish rocks even more. I like the flow of this.

Hi Roman,

I tried a couple of combo's one of those could work in many ways.

The surface area was actually pretty flay to me so depth of field was not a problem i may have others with more but kind of liked it this way

John,

I like the composition and the colors but want more contrast. I tried a local contrast enhancement using USM at 20/50/0 and then sharpened the image more using USM at 125/0.2/0 three times. The middle is very sharp the the top and bottom are soft. Since you were on a tripod, a smaller f/stop could have been used for a better DOF.
