Perhaps this pose is quite common among storks and other birds but a bird on their knees was a first for me! In addition, I really loved the color of the bill/beak. So I captured the event for posterity! This Wood Stork is a Jenkins Creek park out side of Spring Hill. Your C&C is appreciated.

Hi John I have seen them on their knees a lot but not sure what they are up to? Could post the question in the behavior gallery!!!

Remember to get into good sun angle before making the image. The sun was from your right so the left side is in partial shadow. Can also suggest to crop a little from the left to keep the bird off center. Very nice image !!!

Thanks Alfred, I just found the pose very different. I will try to keep the sun more in mind. THanks.

Hi John,
Nice Stork...agree with Mr. Forns on the light angle. you need to watch that sun...the lighting is very harsh, casting shadows...
