I shot this Mum with a lensbaby. I have been experimenting with the lens for a while. When using the lens you are always balancing abstract vs. clarity. This was shot with a Canon 5D, shutter at 1/15, and ISO = 100. I used a F/4 aperture ring and a 37 mm +10 macro lens add-on.

Amazing image, Gordon! I love your choice of composition and your choice of focus is perfect. If the mum makes it into the first frost (which you're in Michigan so that should be what? Tomorrow?) I'd try it again with the ice crystals on the surface. I bet it would be a fascinating image!!!

Excellent composition Gordon. I like the overlapping of both flowers. The details are superb and the color rendition is dead on. The depth of field and selective focus is the key that puts this over the top...congrats...well done...

Very neatly composed. Liked the colours too. Might wish the selective focus area was a bit further to the left - i.e. on the center of the blooming regions.
