There was an Osprey pair reported at Ogier ponds about a month ago. But haven't seen/heard anything recently.
I had some decent luck in Lake Tahoe a couple of years ago... JR

Arash,
I did a Google search for Osprey in the SF Bay area and it was noted that they are occasional visitors to the Bay are. Someone out there might know of a lake they frequent. The only place I see osprey every time I'm there is at McKerricher State Park north of Fort Bragg. There is one freshwater lake in the park.It has trout in it that the Osprey just love. Sometimes you see River Otters too.
Good luck in your search and God bless,
Chris

Arash,
I hope that you are using a camera to "Shoot"...
In the words of Arthur Morris, "We do not shoot images we create them"
I have had random sightings of ospreys..the locations are different each time.
.
You might try http://ggro.org/hawkwatch/default.aspx
They keep a running count of all migrating Hawks and other raptors over "Hawk Hill". Just scroll down and you will see the record of each day which can help you determine the frequency of the osprey that fly over the Golden Gate.
Or try http://www.sialia.com/
and search through the list for http://www.sialia.com/s/calists.pl?rm=one_list;id=68 for south bay birds for any recent sightings in San Jose.
I hope that these will help you...

An Osprey was this evening at the far end of the Lagoon at Carmel State Beach taking a bath. It then took off and flew across the beach. JR

Try Halfmoon Bay, Tomales Bay and Bodega Bay, they are all good with Bodega Bay being my personal favorite.
