Hi all, thanks very much for the feedback on my previous post :)

This image of a Greater Flamingo was photographed in the Strandfontien Water Works, Western Cape, South Africa - not too far from my home in Cape Town. This location offers some great flamingo opportunities, especially at sunrise and sunset when the water turns shades of red and orange.

Gorgeous colors and nicely done with the exposure.. I might be in the minority but I actually wish you had more DOF on the mountains. I probably would crop below the top clouds to see what that looks like also. The horizon looks a tad crooked and intersects a little too much close to the center of the frame. I actually think it would be a stronger / different image if cropped pano right below where it starts getting darker.

This is lovely, Kirsten. The colours are beautiful and the pose of the flamingo is perfect. Those dramatic Cape mountains are very impressive. I wonder about trying to lighten the dark band a little - it really bisects the image. I agree with Mike's crop suggestion as an option as it would lift the dark line from the centre. All in all a shot to be proud of.

I really like the mood and colors and would do some CW rotation.

This is fantastic. I would add a little more room at the bottom if you have any. Lovely colors!

Fantastic light and comp. Agree with Mike on the dof issue, would like to see either a little more mountain in focus or blur the background more. Overall a very pleasing image.

Another vote for greater depth of field. Would have loved some more space at the bottom.

Nice to see this herea after the debut on Outdoor Photography. As I said there worthy of a magazine cover irrespective of where it is cropped.

This is grand. The composition is great. I do agree with some of the suggestions. I would add my vote for bluring the mountains a bit more; and perhaps narrow down the green shore-line. Nice piece of art.

Breathtaking shot Kirsten! Another vote for cropping the dark area off of the top.
