Saw this phoebe in Central Park in early October of this year. I love his pose but am not sure about the perch or the crop. Is the tree too overpowering?

Beth,

In your original image, the bird was appearing small. The right side branch is harshly lit. You can crop it to bring the bird towards the right.

This shot will also work as a vertical. So I did a vertical crop. Attaching that.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

I like the recropped image much better. The perch in the original was too dominant, from both a size and a brightness standpoint. The bird got a little lost in the frame. Some of the feathers look a little hot. If it had been possible, moving to the right likely would have helped this image.

Thanks for the diagnoses, Sabyasachi and Doug. The crop does look a bit better. I'll go back to the image and see if there's more I can do with it.
