Forsters Tern
Southern,California

I was out testing my firmware update for the D300 in which they made some focusing adjustments and many other tweaks
I did get off about 12 shots until it felt like it was going to pour. We did have a few moments of sun when I caught this Tern in a dive
I just liked the position of capture the bg is storm clouds.

Thanks For Looking

Sorry to hear about the rain Jim, and thanks for the ID help. Love the topside detail here and the great fanned tail. Only wish the head were a little sharper.

Only wish the head were a little sharper. Thanks Doug! I totally agree with you most of the critical focus was towards the tail. But I thought it was a cool pose. :)

Looks sharp to me too. Plus it is a wonderful pose you've captured. Not easy to do with these terns. The bg is especially nice. Well done.

Love the feather details and arch to the fanned tail. Sharpness looks OK to me.

I think that I agree with Raymond but at my age it could be my eyes. Looks pretty darn to me and very nicely captured James, congrats on a killer image.

I would be curious to know if the d300 firmware helped your focusing ability at all?
