Red-breasted Merganser
Southern, California

The duck species are beginning to arrive here locally as I did see my first Red-breasted Merganser
last weekend as well as several other duck species that winter here. So I thought I would post a shot
from earlier in the year. I only saw a few males this past winter as they are quite striking when they are in
their breeding plumage.

Thanks For looking

Lovely image Jim. Gorgeous color and sharp detail. I like that the orange feet can be seen in the clear water behind the merganser. Great exposure control.

Exposure control, details and water colors look very good. I agree with Linda, the feet add to the image.

Lovely light and pose, colours are great! Crop looks very nice, maybe a little more sharpening could help! Stil, great a presented! Congratulations!

Fascinating bird. I really like the red beak, eye and feet. That's quite a bow wave he is pushing.

Nice sharp eye and clean water drops. The feet are a big plus.
