I went out for the third time to visit the Grebe family, the babies are grown and healthy, catching food by themselves, although still they will beg for food. I saw one catching one "leaf" bugs and the other chick was fed by the adult male with a huge tadpole.

I went on the afternoon and the golden light was spectacular over the water... but the grebes stay most of the time on the shadows... I guess that is my luck.

This is stunning Raul. Really love the expression, yellow on grey tones, water and the plumage, particularly the anti-clockwise sweep. The angle is quite high but I think that is what gives you the look and feel of this image.

Killer pose and eye contact,I would prefer a lower angle!

Sharp and cute and great detail in the darks. Seeing only one pupil is a negative...

Absolutely lovely, Raul. Love the swirl of feathers and the ripples. Artie's point about the eyes is the only issue for me. May work as an even tighter crop.

I think the higher perspective makes this image work well. Really cute expression, but do wish for that other pupil. Great plumage on this guy!

A lower angle would've been great, still as presented it is great, love the contrast between the balk plumage and the eyes! Great shot! Big congratulaitons!

I copied the left eye, flipped and pasted over the right... not sure is the best PS work but it may work.

Fabulous repost with excellent Photoshop work. Did you use a Quick Mask?

Wow! That is very impressive photoshopping. It makes a definite improvenment to the image to see both eyes.

Thanks all for comments,

Artie, I did not use quick masking. I have not make the jump to Photoshop yet, I am still a PS Elements user, but I am considering it. When I make the jump, I'll make sure to get O'Toole's APTATS.
