This is the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet capable of MACH 1.8+ or 1180 MPH!!! this picture was taken at just under MACH 1. notice the vapor coming off the wing. it is caused by the hot/cold air compression at that rate of speed. very cool!!
