This image was taken of the roseate spoonbill last spring on one of our visits to Fort Desoto. It was early in the morning and the light was still very soft. Fortunately no one had come to the beach as yet and we had a few minutes to enjoy these beautiful birds before they left for the day.

Light is terrific Judy as it is BG ans pose, detail is fantastic and the comp works perfectly, I just noticed that some Reds are blown out (not sure if that is the "way to say it") I would try to work those reds again, although a PP issue is minor, the shot itself is simply gorgeous! Congratulations!

Ramon many thanks for your comments as they are always appreciated. This spponbill was in breeding plumage and only some of the feathers get that dark pink or red color so they look as presented in this image. I can certainly see what you were thinking were blown out reds though..

Again many thanks Ramon

You are very welcome Judy! Thnaks for the info as I didn't really know about the colours of the breeding plumage. Still, I think that if you'd work in the red channel a very little bit, you could get some detail, specially in the shoulder area :)

Love the pose and the light. There is a dust spot or something in the upper right of the frame. Other than that I would not change a thing.

Judy, beautiful image. Aside from that slight dust spot already mentioned, I think all that's left is to pick out a frame.

Cheers,
Greg

Judy Lynn,

This is Wonderful. Love the pose, background and the exposure looks right on. I see no clipping of detail on my monitor. I would refine the crop a bit, but best to let the editor decide ;)

Best,

Chas

Hi Judy,

Gorgeous pose and colors. I don't have a problem with the reds. However you left a dust spot in the top right corner.

What a great light Judy! The smooth, bicolored, background is really sweet and the bird pose is fantastic. The reflection on the water adds a lot to this image. Oh, I madly love this species:p
