Here's one from last winter. Its a bit tight on the top I know......but I thought the perch was pretty cool.

I agree 100% with your self-critique on this one Glenn. Like it a lot.

Lovely shot, Glen. Agree re a bit more on top but BG and perch fanatastic. You may have had a little room to push up the ISO and close the aperture to increase DOF but the critical areas are sharp and I see you were already quite low on shutter speed so not a lot of light. Those lichens on the perch look identical to some we get here in the Antipodes.

Great one! Love the perch, the light, the bird, the pose and colours, BG is amazing too, a bit more room all arround woul'd been great here, but as presented it looks great! Congratulaitons!

Now that is one wicked perch!! Adding canvas above should prove easy if you don't mind losing the 3:2 aspect ratio. The head angle could be a bit better IMO but still an awesome image...better that anything I have with this species :-)

Love the composition and your own critique covers it all Glenn. Beautiful work and the perch puts it over the top for me.

Glenn, I agree with your self-critique and a few of the others mentioned, but I still think it's a great shot. The perch is awesome as is the lighting on the bird. The BG works very well too. Great job on the exposure; lichen-encrusted perches are always tough because it's easy to blow them out.

Cheers,
Greg
