....in which BeeP takes on the role of wildlife rehabilitator....

Today Beep went to do some voluntary work at the Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre (www.oandf.co.uk (http://www.oandf.co.uk)). He had to work very hard indeed, but everyone said that he was a natural with the animals. First of all he had to clean out the hedgehog cages and then he had to muck out the tawny owl aviary. He thought that that was great fun as he had to rake out mulch and he got to ride in a wheelbarrow...
Then it was time for the photo opportunity. Stumpy the hedgehog is one of the stars of the rescue centre - Serena Stevens, who runs the centre, recently won a national award for her work and the local TV company came and made a program about her. Stumpy was chosen to star when it was learned that he had been brought to the refuge with a broken leg and was sporting a bright red plaster!!! He is a very feisty little fellow and he and BeeP are now the best of friends....Beep says he is amazed at how fast Stumpy can walk around on three legs...
Tomorrow we will tell you about another of Beep's animal encounters at the refuge!
With love to you all,
BeeP and Nicki
