Im trying something different, comp wise. I know most of you guys like the image full in the frame, so here goes.

I like what you are trying here Stuart. The light and colours are great. I assume this was framed as a vertical not cropped from a landscape format. I would tend to favour a landscape format as long as you can keep the nice uniform BG colour. I would darken the light areas in the middle of the frame and increase the sharpening of the bird but be careful of the water drops on it's back. Look forward to more.

This is a different crop and I like it !!! The image lends itself well As an alternative would have been using a longer focal length and going tight on the bird, would have made a compelling image with that light !!!

I love the colors in this. The only suggestion I can make is burning the outlines to keep the eye inside the image. Good work!
