Excellent details and eye contact Denise. I too like the leaves in your composition. Don't know what the experts will say about the shadows under the tail??????.

.... shadow under the tail .... wish it wasn't there !!!

Love the pose with direct eye contact and realistic reds which are difficult to come up with !!! I also like the leafs but would crop from the top to half way down the leaf !! I like the image a lot !!!

Alfred you're such a poet I knew you would call me out about the shadow under tail!! I thought about completing the shadow on tail so it doesn't stick out. Is that a bad idea?

Hi Denise,
Don't like the shadow either, but love everything else about the picture - esp the colour of the BG leaves!

Nicki

Hi Denise - the SHADOW police make a apperance :) :) :)

Nice shot - like the pose and the HA - shadow detracts a little.

Ill send you some bail $$$

Hi Denise,
I like the pose and the colour of the cardinal, it is not oversaturated. Find the shadow a little distracting too. Nice and sharp in the head/eye area. Good one.

Hi denise:

First lighten tail uniformly as I could with QM, then very carefully painted it as well as I could with Brush tool, varying size, hardness and opacity to blend in.

Glad you approve.
