Well done on the HDR Michael.

I would have preferred to see more rocks in the lower FG to ground the image better by framing it.

Lovely HDR. Nice details though out.
Might increase the saturation in sky but that is just a personal preference. It is very good as presented too.

Beautiful lighting! I agree that the FG could use a few more rocks but the sky and lighthouse is fantastic!

Hi Michael, Very nice on all counts. I would vote either for pointing the camera down a bit (or zooming or framing wider) or for cropping away most of the foreground rocks for a semi-pano look.
As for the three HDR EXPs, I am a bit confused (and trying to learn HDR). Why: -3, -1, +1 Ev when it seems that the original would require close to +1 on it's own, in other words, why not -2, 0, +2 (or am I missing something obvious)???

Artie +2 on this scene gave me almost entire whiteout. I got enough detail at +1 and by going -3 it really brought out the colors in the sky.
Normally I shoot at -2, 0, and + 2. You still have to use trial and error though to see where you get the best results.

I would love to see more fore ground rocks. The horizon cuts the image into two equal halves. But the beautiful lighting takes the eye above the horizon. Nice work.

Thanks Michael. That makes sense. I did not notice that you were using a 5D; I had assumed a MIII which needs more light than the rest of the cameras.

never get ghosting cause I use the right settings on Photomatix :D

One thing I really like about this image, is the rich reds on the roof tiles. The water in the cove is nicely captured with some silkiness and yet has enough action to it to draw the viewer in. I just might have to see how this HDR works.

I really like this image...I would also agree with the suggestion on the foreground rocks but I like it as is...
