Suddenly an endangered species in my yard. I planted Star Jasmine in my back yard and all the hoverflies are getting caught in the blossoms and dying! Are Star Jasmine plants insectovores? Pretty strange.

Hoverfly captured with
Canon 10D
Promaster 100 mm macro
ISO 200 1/250 sec @ F11
Bogen 3021 tripod w 3055 ballhead

All CC appreciated.

God bless all,

Chris

Nice image Chris. The insect is exposed well & is sharp with good details. A few spots on the petals seem a bit hot on my monitor.
Might also crop a wee bit from the right & top but that's just me :)

I agree with Kaushik. Tone down the hot spots and crop or clone that LRC and you've got a great image.

Hey Chris, I really like the image, good details and I would maybe crop a tad off the top of the frame, and bring in the left side a little. Well done.

Chris,

Like this one, do you know the sp? Its not a normal hover fly!

Nice and sharp with great color.

Image is leaning over and somewhat overly bright. Also wish we didnt have clipped petals.
