I like the soft light and wing position and only wish he would have flown toward you.

Agree with Axel's critique points.

The BG looks a little strange Bill, doesnt look very smooth. If this is from curves, run NR before you lighten in curves to avoid this.

Thanks you guys, I like this flight angle as much as one coming towards me but I do now notice the BG is ummm, wrong. It may indeed be from curves, I'm not sure now at this point but I will fix it or change it and repost. Thanks.

I took 6 passes with despeckle - then 1 pass with reduce color noise - then 1 pass with median @ 13. Whatta they say - if it doesn't kill ya it'll cure ya. I also did some clone brush work. In case this didn't get it I also posted the original untouched full frame at 1024px below - I like this shot and would like to see it as good as it could be.

If anyone would like to play with this, I would be interested to see what you do. :)

In addition to the above comments it looks a little too contrasty as posted Bill.

Hey Doug, appreciate your input. I did some minute level down adjustments to the top of the forward wing and the claws. Brought up the levels on the forward inside wing. Then I knocked down the water levels and cloned the BG just a tad behind the wing. Don't know if this is what you were looking at but I think it improved the image.
