This image was not made with macro equipment, but I guess it belongs posted here? Captured with a shoulder stock mounted Nikon D200, 80-400mmVR, at 400mm, f8, 1/1600th sec, ISO 400, fill flash - SB800 at -2.0 stops, betterbeamer, manual exp mode, spot meter mode, AF mode. PP'd in CS3.

Hi Dan! It's a close-up, so I'll vote for you keeping it here.

Your equipment description is a mouthful, but it was worth it. Lovely capture of this beautiful b'fly. I also like the fade of focus to the left. My only nit to pick is that the b'fly is bullseyed in the middle of the image.

Nice job overall!

Hi Dan,

I really like the colors and details and the light angle is great.

Agree with Bruce with the centering.

Also I would add just a touch of USM to the wings and if possible to the eyes, even at F8 the eyes are softish.

Agree with both the gentlemen...Since you have the shadow the BF on the right I'd take a bit off the left side and maybe even consider darkening the shadow to make it pop out a bit more. Very nice capture overall!

Really nice capture. The BG colors are complimentary to those of the butterfly. However, would like to see the BG blurred a bit more. The exposure is perfect.
